Amelia is a 19 month old little girl whose joy is impossible to miss. Silly, giggly, and almost always smiling, she truly lives to laugh. She loves Disney, long walks in her Bluey mobile, swimming, and curling up on the couch with Mom and Dad for family movie time.
Amelia is also fiercely independent and strong willed, constantly challenging herself and her parents as she learns and grows. She was born with agenesis of the corpus callosum (ACC), which so far has affected her mildly. While she is delayed in walking and a little behind in speech, she continues to show remarkable ability in many other motor skills.
Her strength has been evident from the beginning. At just one year old, Amelia underwent surgery to have a shunt placed and has faced the challenges that came with significant head growth, yet she continues to meet each day with the same smile, determination, and contagious giggle.
Her family sees Amelia as a beautiful reminder of Psalm 139:14, fearfully and wonderfully made. ACC is part of her story, but it is only one part of the joyful, resilient, and wonderfully unique little girl God created her to be.
